Resellers can reset the password for a customer by doing the following:
  1. Log into WHM.
  2. Go to Account Functions.
  3. Click Password Modification.
  4. Select the account domain name or username for the account password you wish to modify.
  5. Under Password Entry, type the new password.
  6. Click Change Password.
Note: Changing a customer's password will reset the password for cPanel, SiteStudio, SiteBuilder and the main FTP account.

Database

A new user with a new password must be created if the password cannot be retrieved through the site configuration file.
  1. Log into cPanel.
  2. In the Databases section, click MySQL Databases.
  3. In the MySQL Users section, add a new user with the desired password.
  4. Click Create User to add the new user to the database.
  5. Change your site configuration settings to the new user name and password.
Note: Making these changes will not erase or change any of the data in your database.

Website Admin

If the software was installed via QuickInstall you can reset the password from within cPanel by accessing the installation via QuickInstall. If the software was manually installed, HostGator may not be able to reset your Website Admin password due to custom configurations.
